Gaming Desktop PCs

With so many gaming desktop PCs it’s difficult when it comes to choosing the best gaming computer for your budget. Lets face it, if you’re a hardcore gamer you’re going to want more than a basic PC. With highly detailed and graphics intensive games like Ghost Recon and God of War, you’ll need a graphics card that is up for the job.

Video games are becoming more and more advanced, so there’s no point in getting a mediocre gaming PC when it’ll be out of date in a few months. Sure, a gaming desktop might be fun now with the current and older games on the market, but we all know how much technology can leap. Game designers aren’t thinking about gamers of yesterday, they’re thinking of how to push games to the limit. It’s always been this way.

This is why smart gamers tend to go for gaming machines that are more than capable of handling current games on the market. The last thing you want is to buy a new game that you’ve been dying to play for months, only to find out that your current computer can’t handle the frame-rate on high settings.

Enjoy playing World of Warcraft (WOW) online? I love WOW and sometimes I’ll have a couple of accounts open at the same time which is called multi-boxing. For me, I need a gaming computer with a fast enough processor that doesn’t start slowing or stuttering on me when I’m in the heat of a battle.

So, what should you look for when buying a gaming desktop PC? First of all, make sure it’s designed for gaming! Yes, I realize that sounds obvious but if you’re a serious gamer then you need a serious machine! If you’re just a casual gamer and you actually use your computer mostly for other things such as work and other boring things then a gaming desktop is probably not necessary. A decent all-round home desktop might just be enough.

You’ll still be able to enjoy most games and at worst at a lower graphics setting. You could even get away with buying a laptop, although in terms of upgrading and reconfiguring parts it’s really best to get a desktop. Having said that, Alienware and Toshiba have a range of high performance gaming laptops for those who need both lightning speed and portability.

Brands like iBUYPOWER, CybertronPC, Gateway, Dell and Velocity desktops are all well known manufacturers, so what makes an awesome gaming PC? Well for starters it needs a powerful processor. Then it needs a solid graphics card like an ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce card. Of course you’ll also want great sound, so you may want to purchase speakers as well as other gaming accessories such as a gaming keyboard and mouse. No one said playing games wasn’t expensive, but if you’re a real gaming fan, don’t skimp on a desktop PC that you’ll soon regret.
